I’m typing this up with one hand because I’m holding my phone in the other. I figured while I’m waiting for AT&T’s customer service to take my call, I’d get some practice typing with my left hand.
This reminds me of college, when I would start dozing off in those really interesting electrical engineering classes and I would just start writing everything the teacher said down in my notes with my left hand in the hopes of getting better and becoming ambidextrous.
Side note: AT&T’s “hold” music is really unpleasant. I wonder if anyone has done any legit scientific studies with regards to “hold” music to try to find the most annoying so callers would just give up and hang up - which I’m not doing. I’m staying on the line until my phone battery drains, and then I’ll plug it in, until I get ahold of a representative.
But back to my initial rant - my left hand is getting tired….I ordered an Iphone 4 like two weeks ago now, and I also requested that my number get ported over (basically keeping my same phone number) from Verizon. Well, I got an e-mail about a week ago stating that they were having some issues taking my CT area code and porting it over to a VA area code. So, I sat on the phone for about an hour listening to the same tunes I’m listening to right now, and finally got it situated by giving them my old CT address so they could validate that I lived there before and it was all settled. After talkin to three different levels of representatives, the finally said that I was all set and good to go.
Fast forward to yesterday, I received another e-mail saying that they were having issues validating my address….whiskey tango foxtrot! So here I am, two weeks later, still trying to get my order processed - I wonder if its even worth it at this point. You’d think a company that was going to receive a new customer from one of their main competitors would be a little more helpful in trying to help me out.
*I wonder what the telephone representative is even in his/her office. No offense to people who work at call centers, but I can’t see it being a very competent person sitting at that desk making minimum wage. He’s probably passed out in his chair, waiting for four o’ clock to roll around so he can go home and enjoy a 6-pack or something.
So 35 minutes have gone by…….still nothinng
I read somewhere that humans only use like 40-60% of their brain power, and right handed people predominantly use the left side of their brains - which is why I thought of exercising the right side of my brain by writing with my left hand. Something that I started doing a few years back was brushing my teeth with my left hand, give it a shot sometime - I remember the first time being so awkward, but you eventually get the hang of it after a few days of doing it. Still not sure if it has helped my “brain power” haha but it’s something to do I guess lol.
All I have to say, is that this new Iphone 4 better be worth it. Been on hold for going on 40 minutes now……..
